Parents of Pre-College Students Offerings

These coaching programs are designed for parents of high school juniors and seniors only.

Private Family Coaching

Collegiate Career Coach will work with both the parent(s) and the college student in a variety of areas, based on the category the student is in and the family’s personal situation. Upon completion of the (3) three month family coaching sessions, the parents and pre-college students will have gained the following:

  • A better understanding of the college application process (application, essays, SATs/ACTs, letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc.)
  • Financial information – saving and paying for college (actually setting up a plan)
  • Assistance in finding employment in the college degree major field of interest (resume and cover letter help, create a list of employers that fall into that field, and interviewing tips)
  • A working list of schools divided up into three categories: “safe” schools (easy to get into based on the student’s records), “middle ground” schools, and “reach” schools (most difficult desired schools)
  • Identification of the likely college degree major that will best suit the student and his or her career goals (the goals will be identified throughout the coaching process)
  • A timeline outlining when each document for college will be completed and all of the necessary information submitted
  • The foundation for a smoother transition into college for both the parent(s) and student

Group Coaching

For groups of ten families of more, Collegiate Career Coach will develop a customized workshop or series of seminars to address specific needs and situations. There are numerous possibilities, and my popular speaking topics may suggest a theme or outline:
